In 2019 Sarah published an illustrated manual,Maintenance Required: Basic Auto Care Workbook and Resource Guide, which will be available at the workshop.
In this workshop you will learn the basics of combustion engines and how systems of a car work together. Topics include tools, manuals, maintenance schedules, and finding a good mechanic. Images, diagrams, and actual parts and tools are used for reference, with opportunities for questions and participant dialogue throughout. For the hands-on part of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to practice changing a tire using the jack provided with their own car. We’ll go under the hood and talk about checking vital fluids, changing an air filter, and the process and materials needed for an oil change.
There will be an opportunity for up a few of you to bring pull you very own car up to the Sarah's class for hands-on experience getting to know your automobile. Ask for the sign-up sheet at the check in table if you want to make sure you get a spot. We are limiting the number of cars to 10. You are still going to learn plenty of valuable information even if you opt not to bring your car to class.
