Birds are everywhere and birding is for everyone!
Birding is a fun, easy way to enjoy nature year-round wherever you are. Participants of Rod's class will learn a simple strategy for bird identification and then take a short walk to practice their new skills. The whole experience is anticipated to take about 90 minutes. He says, "Bring binoculars if you have them, but they aren’t required. Comfortable shoes encouraged. Unconventional headgear appreciated."
This will be Rod's second visit to Little Wing Hollow. His Nature Walk & Birding class in 2017 got cut short due to a rather healthy rainstorm. We never got a chance to reschedule until now, and we're really looking forward to it. We loved the short time we had with him. Rod is super nice, super smart, and full of interesting facts about birds, flora, and fauna.
He says he's "honored to return to Cowgirl Camp to share his love of birds and nature again." Likewise, we are honored to have him.
Rod Botkins is a former Pine Mountain Settlement School environmental education fellow and has been a birder for more than 10 years. He lives in Louisville where leads bird walks for The Louisville Nature Center, Outdoor Afro and others.
